Man Invents Sting Saver

While working outdoors, Randy J. invariably encountered pesky insects.
“I’d be doing landscape work and I’d run into bees, yellow jackets and hornets,” he recalled. “I checked around for bee suits, but I couldn’t find stores that carried what I was looking for.”
Therefore, Randy decided to design a suit to meet his specifications.
“I designed one that would keep the body cool,” he explained.
After completing the Sting Saver design, Randy, along with investors, submitted it to Invent-Tech. The Coral Gables, Fla., company is helping Randy with the documentation and licensing of the product as well as with publicity and public relations.
“We got the idea patented, and we’re submitting it to manufacturers now,” Randy noted. “There’s been some nice manufacturer response and we’re hoping to have it on the market soon. There’s nothing out there compared to what I’ve got.”
He added that the Sting Saver would be ideal for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.
“It would be great for people who like to hunt and fish and will be for all ages and sizes,” Randy said.
Since it shields the body, he continued, “It could probably help prevent allergies, too.”
Randy, who has designed more than 25 inventions, said he first started doing so in his teens.
“I’ve been able to do this since I was about 14,” he reflected. “In the past few years, I’ve been putting them on the computer. For me, the new ideas come into my mind like taking a snapshot.”
